A good sound quality, long, live version of A Forest by The Cure

I'm talking about like a 10 minute version. I guess 8 minutes would do, but I know nice, really long versions have been played. But does anyone have a good sound quality of one that's in audio format? If so, what could I do to get a copy of it.

What are you going to do with it?

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 27 May 2005 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Listen to it. And maybe play it on my radio show at the local, tiny college station. I've just always wanted a really long version and don't have one.

Hmm, you could check out the version on 'Show' for a start.

It's on "Concert" but not "Show". Or "Paris" fwiw... (or "Entreat")

Yeah, I've got "Concert" but I was hoping for something a little longer.

"At Orange," perhaps?

Joseph, is there and audio version of this performance or only the VHS/VCD version. Or does the VCD have an audio aspect to it such that it can be played in a cd player?

matt2 (matt2), Friday, 27 May 2005 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think its any longer than usual, though. From what I can remember...

I have an mp3 of "Play for Today" from that show, so an audio version must be floating around somewhere... (by the way, if you want that one, i could, y'know, email it)

There's lots of live boots of this on Soulseek.

Joseph, sure I'll take it at your leisure. Brooker, looks like I'll need to seek. I haven't had a chance to look around slsk much recently.

I've got a 15-minute version of it on CD-R. It's really loud. I'm not sure where it was recorded or when but I'd have to guess sometime between 1987 and 2001 if anything.

I'll upload it in a bit.

Thanks Ian. I'll be looking forward to it.

Hopefully this'll be sufficient. The synth's admittedly a bit distorted in the intro because it's so loud, and there's a lot of clapping/cheer as the bass takes a minute to fade out after Robert says good night, but it's more than decent sound quality-wise and I do like this performance a lot.

Thanks so much Ian. I'm dling it now, and then I'm off for the weekend. Can't wait to hear it.

I want to hear the version where Robert throws up on stage.
