I'm listening to Leonard Cohen. He's 70. He's great. Who else? Unfortunately I can't think of any grandmas, but there sure must be some.

Well, I've mentioned this on a few older threads, but it bears repeating: my own late granddad was a rock fan even into his eighties! He enjoyed Dire Straits, CCR/John Fogerty, Doobie Brothers and ZZ Top's Eliminator. (Even stranger: He gravitated to the harder sounds as he got older! His early 1970s favourites were Three Dog Night, Bread and Jim Croce.)

I'm not sure if they have actual grandchildren, but Aretha Franklin, Fontella Bass and Shirley Bassey have all reached the grandma age and they still rock.

Mick Jagger is a grandfather (I don't know enough about the current Stones to say if they still rock).

Kim Kane at the Slickee Boys reunion last night looked at least 60, but pogoed like a 20-year-old. I was half expecting him to break a hip during all that.

Live, they most certainly do. Their new material hasn't been up to earlier standards for more than 30 years though.

Wasn't Loretta Lynn a grandmother at some ridiculous age - like 29? So at 68 she releases Van Lear Rose, which is a pretty good listen.
