Surely I can't be the first person to note that the Black Eyed Peas have blatantly ripped off Asha Bhonsle's 'Yeh Mera Dil Yaar Ka Diwana' for 'Don't Phunk with My Heart'?

I mean, forgive me if we covered this but, WHOA:
Bhonsle and BEP.

ASCAP and Gracenote had no info I could find, can someone please tell me that there's at least a credit in the album?

When 'Don't Phunk With My Heart' started playing on the radio the other day my coworker said to me: "oh, its that group you hate because they rip everything off". Once we got to the chorus and i heard the stolen bit of I Wonder If I Take You Home I was SO HAPPY that they had done it again because it proves my point. Not that my idiot coworker would have any idea who Lisa Lisa or Cult Jam was...

They steal everything. They have no shame. I bet they heard Beyonce use 'Can You Feel The Beat' last year and thought "Hey! We can be even more obvious than that!!!" then they started ROFL-ing until their brains started oozing out of their noses but they just shoved them back in because they weren't doing anything anyway...

They were too lazy to even record their own scratch breaks for Bridging the Gap, I recognized stuff from Bambaata's tracks! ('but its an homage... honest')

Sorry to go on, but its a little pet hate of mine.

I do however admire them for being so cynical as to hire a STRIPPER to double their profits. Kudos on that, it also makes their videos watchable.

My question is a simple one: do the BEP's liner notes reflect that they've lifted this bit from Bhonsle (or, rather, I assume R.D. Burman) or is this an uncredited swipe? Cuz if it's credited, whatever. If it's UNcredited, let's start a class-action lawsuit.

The italics didn't work out. Isn't the usage of 'phunk' because on the album that I don't own they say 'fuck' and you can't say 'fuck' to kids because your album won't sell?
