It was out at one time, at least some of it.. then it fell out of print.

Then Chapelle made James into a skit joke.

Then James died.

So, who knows...

In the meantime, you should get that 2-CD anthology to get the best tracks from the post-Street Strongs.

Motown released Come Get It! (1978) and Bustin' Out Of L Seven (1979) a while back at least... I dunno about Fire It Up (1979) and Garden Of Love (1980) as those were relatively less successful albums... I think there was once a Street Songs/Throwin' Down (the latter from 1982) two-fer CD issued that's now a gazillion dollars on eBay... as it's the only way to get the whole of Throwin' Down, which is really just a weaker followup cash-in on Street Songs (though "Hard To Get" is great.. but that's on the anthology anyway). Don't know about Cold Blooded and the ones after...

too bad about the thread title.

get the best tracks from the post-Street Strongs.

Street Strongo Hulkington!

In any case, you can pretty much find the vinyl albums for about no more than $3 a piece usually...

currently, it would be more expensive to eBay/Gemm for the CDs than to actually buy a Technics 1200 M3 turntable and the accompanying albums.. that's a fact.

What's wrong with the thread title. It just references Chapelle right? And I don't think you can blame Chapelle alone for making James a punchline.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 03:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, you can certainly blame him for making James that punchline.

Nothing wrong with it. It was very funny the first dozen times.

A googol dozen times? no.

donut debonair (donut), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 03:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Hammer predated Chapelle on making James a punchline, anyway.

There's no reason why this kind of cheesy 80's video should exist:

But it's still what got me into Rick James, bitch.
