I'm Eric, a 21 yr old student at USAFA that spends more time reading music reviews and listening to music than studying. Far, far more time. Recently it's been this board that's consumed most of my time, (along with movies) since school just finished. I aspire to be the first pilot in the history of the AF with decent taste in music. I'm also not as cocky as i sound. stuff i've been listening to recently incudes: autechre, new fads, wire, shudder to think, slowdive, clash, richard and linda thompson, my bloody valentine, the jam, red house painters, the replacements, and the sound. other interests? well, they're not as important, are they?

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 30 May 2005 02:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, hello.

You know, maybe we should start a board just for new people to introduce themselves.

Do you play any instruments?

Aja (aja), Monday, 30 May 2005 02:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Off topic question:

Is the USAFA as full of scary fundies as recent stories make it sound?

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Monday, 30 May 2005 03:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Moi

Amon (eman), Monday, 30 May 2005 03:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't get it what's your question? other interests, or whether they're impotant?

Robin Samples, Monday, 30 May 2005 04:43 (twenty-one years ago)

It isn't a question Robin!

HI ERIC!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 30 May 2005 05:39 (twenty-one years ago)

How heartwarming to know that the next pilot flying over Iraq/Afghanistan/Serbia/ad nauseam will be listening to Richard and Linda Thompson while he pushes the button to open the hatch.

Which happy tune will he be whistling? "Roll Over Vaughn Williams"? "The End of the Rainbow"?

Hope Bush gives you a commendation! Wouldn't that be lucky?

Gramme Friday, Monday, 30 May 2005 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Hello Eric! Welcome.

Yo Eric!
Decent taste in music is needed more in nearly all professions.

peepee (peepee), Monday, 30 May 2005 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Which professions are exempt, Peepee?

Huk-L, Monday, 30 May 2005 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Which professions are exempt, Peepee?

I hear the ratio of those in the fields of toenail-clipper testing and cartographic proofreading are higher than usual.

peepee (peepee), Monday, 30 May 2005 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks everyone. Gramme-- Who knows. Maybe i'll choose to do search and rescue?

Fundies at USAFA..... I shouldn't go there. But it has made me realize how badly the media blows things out of proportion...yes

No instruments, wish my parents got me into that when i was little. I plan on picking up something after school is over... probably guitar since i've been told guitar players get all the women.

No mean feat. DaBaby (breastcrawl), Thursday, 16 July 2020 21:43 (five years ago)

dear breastcrawl: not being familiar with either of your songs, I reviewed the lyrics for both Sugar (Lynsey) and Ginger (Rema) and I'm pleased to confirm that both words adhere to the clearly-stated verb-only rule itt. they are not adjective uses like I initially suspected. thank you for your participation 🎈

sad to say I cannot say the same for Hideous Lump's contribution of "Big Me," which I think we all, including even dumb Dave Ghrol, or Grhol, or Groul, or however it's spelled, should know is not a verb but is in fact an adjective. so that shall be stricken from the record and disregarded. Hideous Lump, I love your username but you sir are on notice for your I'm pretty sure intentional oversight.

city worker: nice one, good call. bad song, good title.
