Today I found out that Kevin Blechdom is really a woman. I think it was the Kevin part that mislead me.

You can see the cover art here:

I am excited to hear this LP after reading the boomkat review. But I was already a hardcore (ahem) kevy b fan anyway.

four weeks pass...
revive!

'cos I got a tax return today that will just about pay fot the records I got this morning, which I of course, shouldn't spend, so as to break even... but almost certainly will & this interests me a bit. I've only seen/heard little bits of Kevy B (as she seems to be known) but she seems like a bit of a character :)

SO talk about this record or link some mp3's up, ta.

I like her new album a lot. It's the first one that actually feels like a coherent whole rather than a compilation.

on the first listen, my attention drifted towards the end, but I like those songs too now.

ah that's good to hear... picked up a 22-track record today, which does suffer quite a bit from the 'too many tracks' thing also. I guess I was wary of this one for that reason too. I'll find some bits to hear soon.

three months pass...
I did eventually pick this up, albeit a while after that last post.

Pleasantly surprised! Especially at how well it works as a start-to-finish song cycle-esque thing. It's also pretty brief, brisk and doesn't outstay its welcome.

Oh, and don't miss her live! :-O
