Tried searching for threads on him, but I mostly found threads about Monster Magnet and Magnet Magazine.

Anyway, I just bought the most recent album by Magnet, and I am really overwhelmed. I mean, the last one was great as well, but this is just fantastic.

Imagine Coldplay with more synths and a more detailed production, or "Kid A" era Radiohead with melodies and proper song structures. And some great ones too. The fact that he uses his own voice instead of trying to sound like Bono or Thom Yorke is also a positive thing.

I know he has had a lot of attention outside Norway already (been on several big movie soundtracks, for instance). But this time he really deserves a definite breakthrough.

Can you recommend one or two tracks ? Didn't he do a cover of Lay Lady Lay with Gemma Hayes ?

Opening track "Hold On" is ace IMO.

two months pass...

The sceond track on the album, "Duracellia," has really snuck up on me. The production is perhaps a little more straightforward than the other tracks -- it's more or less a folk-pop number -- but the tune is quite, quite lovely and wistful.
