She's a post-punk idol, and yet she's more or less of the same generation as Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Scott Walker and all those sixties people. Hell, she's older than Bowie who released his first record in 1964 or even Syd Barrett, who was having hits in 1967. What was she doing all that time? She must have been in her mid-thirties when she hit the big time.

one year passes...

I saw her at Bumbershoot today in the sunny weather at about 2 pm. She was wearing a total neon flourescent green outfit, including cowboy hat. She is fucking badass. She has the whole New York punk bitch ATTITUDE, and I say this as a compliment.

Classic moments:

When her mike stand was on the ground a misguided roadie ran in front of her and endeavored to stand it up, but as soon as he was gone from the stage, she knocked it over again. PUNK ROCK!!!

The only other song that I remember for that very reason was Love to Love You Baby by Donna Summer, although that came out a few years earlier so I would have been pretty damn young!
