Hmm ... I mean, I don't like Plaid that much, so ...

But this new project looks incredibly promising, basically it's Ken Downie & two other guys, in a band setup again, so hopefully a bit more focused than the post-Plaid split stuff. I've read rumours though that the new album may actually be a return to form!
The sound has changed a bit, naturally. It's more like Arovane meets Bladerunner or something now (I've only heard the samples) less brittle and percussive, more cinematic. I'll have to hear the record in full to know if it's a decent trade-off though.
I don't really like Plaid much either (occasional songs yes) having only heard 'Trainer' recently... found it dissapointing. But I like the BD a whole lot.

The Phil tracks were on the original.
Phil 1-7 are listed on the cd label, making it look as though there are 18 tracks total. but there are only 11 tracks on the cd so i don't know what thats about.

also this comment on discogs is strange:
K_Stefan - 11-Aug-03 02:14 PM Beware of re-issue! Don't know when it was, but my copy's inner sleeve got nothing in it. I've seen another copy with artwork there. Besides of that, they're identical. Have Warp secretly started their own budget re-issue series, like "Island Masters?"
the inside of my booklet is blank too.

ok, a few listens in, and this is probably the darkest sounding album they have released in a long time.the band themselves have made comparisons to the brilliant 'radio scarecrow' album, but i think this is a lot darker.almost new beat/industrial in parts, e.g. 'mark up'.
