Late-70s powah pawp throw down. I think I'm going with The Knack.

Cheap Trick's first album rules..."He's A Whore" alone is worth the asking price!!! Also the new version have that Go Go Girls song that's a weird Queen patiche...

This is like comparing a Great White to a tadpole.

The first CT album is one of the all-time greatest albums ever put out by anybody. The Knack's entire output barely adds up to a gnat on a dog's dick.

the Knack are fun band, don't get me wrong, but honestly I think Cheap Trick were just geniuses up through Dream Police, one of the best bands ever...

Not a fair fight. Oh Candy alone is better than the entire Knack catalog combined.

yeah Oh Candy is just gorgeous, heartbreaking...

no contest here. "Sharona" is a good single, that's about it for me and the Knack. The first three Cheap Trick albums are fine. This band on V2, Neon, do a cool version of Trick's "He's a Whore" on their recent EP.

seriously, Cheap Trick wins this so easily it's que ridiculo.

I've never had this CT album, but I do wonder why people are so down on the Knack. They had some good songs and a freaking great lead guitarist.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 29 July 2005 17:24 (twenty years ago)

It's not so much a negative on the Knack as it is a reflection of how insanely awesome the first few CT albums are

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Friday, 29 July 2005 17:26 (twenty years ago)

Espeically the first one, which is their best. Again, if you haven't heard Oh Candy, you're in for a treat (no pun intended)

Well, this is all about TAKING SIDES, and since obvious underdogs need it more, I'll take The Knack. "Your Humber Or Your Name", "Good Girls Don't" and "That's What The Little Girls Do" are great jangly rockers and I like Mike Chapman's production job better than Tom Werman's. Altho I think that "He's A Whore" is the greatest thing on either LP. And that "Let Me Out" is a weak Cheap Trick imitation unworthy of inclusion on a Cheap Trick LP. (And for what it's worth, I'll take In Color over But The Little Girls Understand.)

I fucking hate Cheap Trick. Cheap Trick is for fags. You're all fags. Rot in hell. Call [xxxxxx] to suck my balls. Extra large balls. Hope you have a big mouth. Don't mention Cheap Trick or I'll shoot you in the face. I'm undressing you with my eyes right now over the internet. Cheap Trick sucks balls.
