It looks like he's just jacking around -- not doing some kind of careful parody and not being totally-serious, just being a bored kid and throwing on some tin foil and spazzing around with a camera, something not particularly different from dressing up and taping yourself playing broom-guitar in front of the mirror. I guess the only real difference age makes in that sort of thing is with regard to your level of seriousness and/or self-consciousness about it; as you get older you're more clearly kidding and less clearly totally enjoying it as honest-to-god "I am Mike Jones" make-believe. And the bobble-head part seems to imply he's leaning over onto the kidding-around side.
