There isn't much I can say to describe this video other than that it is offensive and funny. Let's see if the internet can handle such contrasting words describing one video.

Cunga (Cunga), Saturday, 30 July 2005 16:48 (twenty years ago)

Party people say "Heil!"

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Saturday, 30 July 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

I have about two or three less words to say about it than you do.

I couldn't finish watching this.

p.j. (Henry), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:04 (twenty years ago)

I mean, I finished, but like before it was over.

p.j. (Henry), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:04 (twenty years ago)

zzzzzzzzzzz

Well, he's better than Linkin Park, at least.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:50 (twenty years ago)

By a smidgin, yes.

p.j. (Henry), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:53 (twenty years ago)

No it isn't! Linkin Park is actually kind of interesting, they have decent melodies and a good rhythm section - their singer is really whiny, so that makes it hard to listen to them, and their emcee dude is so transparently speaking DIRECTLY to the 14-year-olds who make up most of his audience that it's hard for grownups to feel anything besides embarassment in response, but on closer listening (after considerable revulsion) I took something of a liking to 'em. Certainly, the time I spent working with young troubled teens showed me Linkin Park was a band they really felt something for - not "oh, this is cool this week" felt-something but "that band really touched me" felt-something, and I think that's worth a little respect.

This video here, on the other hand, is just lame.

I like the EMF movie.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 30 July 2005 18:29 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, the EMF movie was pretty funny.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Saturday, 30 July 2005 18:35 (twenty years ago)

Matthew Lillard makes for an unconvincing Hitler.

mike h. (mike h.), Saturday, 30 July 2005 19:26 (twenty years ago)

sub "underground comedy movie" at best.

Didn't Mel Brooks do this about a bajillion years ago?

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Saturday, 30 July 2005 20:26 (twenty years ago)

Didn't Mel Brooks do everything that Mel Brooks did about a bajillion years ago?

Has anyone gone and watched the other clips? There's some really funny stuff in there.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 31 July 2005 04:47 (twenty years ago)

I didn't find it very offensive. It had occasional funny moments though, in spite of being yet another irreverant-about-hitler sketch. I kind of chuckled at "Triumph of the Ill"

Hurting (Hurting), Sunday, 31 July 2005 04:50 (twenty years ago)

I would have liked it more had Hitler's hip hop persona retained his national socialist m.o. since rap m.c.'s ultra confidence often borders on the Wagnerian. Instead, they go the safe route of having their multicultural version of Hitler be "down with the Jews, Hispanics, Asians, " etc.
Nevertheless, the growing universiality of the form would indicate that it is simply matter of time before the white racialist movement finds a voice for itself in hip hop.

Drop it like it's hota burning cross

Cunga (Cunga), Sunday, 31 July 2005 21:47 (twenty years ago)

It's kinda dopey and not very creative, but I can't totally hate it cos the "party people say HEIL" made me giggle.
