For years I thought they said "she's a man either." I was totally confused. My English has improved a little since then.

just looking at hall and oates tracks and limewire and realizing that there's a lot of Not-Hall-and-Oates tracks listed under their name. ie. Michael Sembello's (sp?) "Maniac," "How Long Has This Been Going On" and "Every Time You Go Away" ...by Paul Young, was it?

Hall and Oates did do "Everytime You Go Away" originally, as it happens.

no WAY - that was my other favorite song when i was a little kid!

ah shit! you're right! apologies... but it still stands for the other two... any other not-hall-and-oates songs we can think of?

Player's "Baby Come Back" was the best not-Hall-and-Oates Hall and Oates song.

"Maneater," I still associate with playing some diamond-capturing game on the Atari 2600 whose name escapes me.

Chilliwack's "Don't Stop" is another Hall & Oates couldabeen, albeit not a very good one. Anyways, few non-Canadians will be familiar with it.

I still can't get over the singer from Player being Ron whatsisface from Bold and the Beautiful. He's a hoot that guy, often visits Aus and appears on various comedy/chat shows. Very funny guy.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 15 August 2005 00:51 (twenty years ago)

ooh, actually "Baby Come Back" was also listed among the Hall and Oates downloads available on Limewire! Good call, Joseph!

xxxpost - Tutankhamen? Pitfall II?

amon (eman), Monday, 15 August 2005 01:23 (twenty years ago)

Todd Rundgren has several very good not-Hall and Oates Hall and Oates songs ("A Dream Goes On Forever", "Compassion", "Something To Fall Back On"), but in saying that, he did produce one of their albums. I see them as his less psychedelic brothers, which is no bad thing.

Deluxe (Damian), Monday, 15 August 2005 10:08 (twenty years ago)

madge, do you still need this?

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Tuesday, 16 August 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

I've got it, but you can't have it.

Why do you want it? Do you think it's about you?

whiteout (bobnope), Tuesday, 16 August 2005 17:10 (twenty years ago)

Maybe this will help:

She'll only come out at night
The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new, I've seen her here before
Watching and waiting
She's sitting with you but her eyes are on the door
So many have paid to see
What you think you're getting for free
The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by the purr of a Jaguar
Money's the matter
If you're in it for love you ain't gonna get too far

Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a maneater
Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a maneater

I wouldn't if I were you
I know what she can do
She's deadly man, and she could really rip your world apart
Mind over matter
The beauty is there but a beast is in the heart

Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a maneater
