maybe Felix da Housecat, Visage?, Berlin (esp. Pleasure Victim), Eurythmics?, Metal Boys, some of the stuff from the 'So Young But So Cold' comp from Tigersushi, Mount Sims, maybe some stuff on the Richard X album (or the comp he did for Back to Mine), maybe Cut Copy (or some of the stuff from the Kitsune Midnight comp)... I don't know how important it is that there be a female lead vocalist.

how about this for self-promotion: http://www.altairnouveau.com/travel.mp3

Have you hears the Swedish duo The Knife? They have a more simplistic and less polished sound than Ladytron, but also more emotion and soul. Kinda like the 00's Eurythmics, if you will. Their debut album (Deep Cuts) came out a couple of years ago, it's highly recommendable.

(which is the 7" of "Touch" by Lori & the Chameleons, aka Bill "KLF" Drummond and chums - arguably the daddy of all girl-fronted robotronica)
