todd (todd), Monday, 15 August 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
Why did no-one tell me about this band before? I'm listening to this now and it's really good! I read on another thread there's a reissue in the pipeline, is there any update on this?

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 1 September 2005 11:28 (twenty years ago)

The line-up changed...I'm not sure exactly how, Nick Cash joined the Lines at some point, maybe at the same time, but none other then Foetus played synthesizer on the LP, but not the singles. (The Bits ep is just a compilation of the singles.)

I think Mute was working on a reissue.

I thought William Bennett was in them, but that was Essential Logic, I think. Anyway, i had the EP but gave it away or threw it away because it was rubbish IMHO

I've just remembered that I bought this EP as a sort of job lot at Virgin when it first opened in Glasgow - I also got, the Scritti Politti EP with "Messthetics" and "Hegemony" etc on it, and a Robert Rental single and lots of other unpleasant post-punk singles and they were all going for something like 10p each!

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Thursday, 1 September 2005 12:13 (twenty years ago)

thanks for this

Dominique (dleone), Thursday, 1 September 2005 12:29 (twenty years ago)

And thank you. Don't know what I did with half of those singles, probably worth some money these days.

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Thursday, 1 September 2005 12:32 (twenty years ago)

before the CD came out at least, the Scritti 7"s were like, 30 bucks for as long as I can remember.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 1 September 2005 13:01 (twenty years ago)

Delta 5 7"s have got really expensive on Ebay in the last few months. I wish I'd bought Mind Your Own Business when it was still going for under a fiver (only about a year ago!)

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 1 September 2005 13:18 (twenty years ago)

that's silly when the CD is on the way!

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 1 September 2005 14:51 (twenty years ago)

Yes, but WHEN??! It's been on the way for AGES. It's getting like the MBV box set for me.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 1 September 2005 15:04 (twenty years ago)

just wait for Maria to pop up here and let us know, or email kill rock stars and pester them.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 1 September 2005 15:15 (twenty years ago)

Perhaps the impending CD has put Delta 5 more in the post-punk collector's consciousness forcing the price up? I dunno. I do know I'm not spending £15 on a 7". Well, not one that I can get on CD anyway. I spent £12.50 on a Desperate Bicycles 7" the other day, that's about as high as I'll go.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 1 September 2005 15:19 (twenty years ago)

This is great stuff. Thanks.

mcd (mcd), Thursday, 1 September 2005 15:41 (twenty years ago)

Mind Your Own Business is also on the GRLZ: Women Ahead of Their Time compilation that just came out on Crippled Dick Hot Wax.

Which Desperate Bicycles single did you get?
