What have been the better non-album, non-remix B-sides of the year? So far I can think of LCD Soundsystem - Jump into the Fire cover from the Daft Punk Is Playing At My House 7"

I'm always a bit surprised that there are still such things as B-sides, honestly. Not trying to invalidate the question, just sayin'.

I liked "Pass Me Down the Wine" by Oasis. It's the only one I can think of right now. I'm pretty sure I'll come up with a better one once I'm not tired.

Mars Volta's Frances the Mute I also liked....for completeness sake. Interpol's Song Seven isn't that bad either.

"Get Up" by !!!

Not that it isn't awesome (it is, very much so), but that's more of a double A-side, isn't it? Both sides have their own different sleeve art and everything...

I agree with Telephonething. I also think that's an amazing cover song but it's a Double A.

"Colonie the Moon" by the Super Furries is a terrible b-side, but it features the line "I vomited throughout your saxophone solo", so I figured it was worth a mention.

Madelaine, Red Eye Shot and Feels Like Glue by Embrace are all outstanding. Not that I expect anyone but me to have heard them.

Disco Sheets from the 3rd self-titled Wolf Parade EP is pretty good too.

'Word To The Wise' and 'The Free Load' by The Shortwave Set are very classy.

BARMS, Tuesday, 16 August 2005 15:30 (twenty years ago)

Simon, any way you could YSI that Super Furries track? I can't find the single anywhere and 8oul8e3k isn't turning it up...

BTW, I will be putting up my collection on sooolse4ek in about three weeks time, so if you are into that kind of stuff check back and ask to get added to my list. I’m always in the I Love Music room as well. FYI, the reason it will take three weeks is because I’m buying a new computer with more hard drive space at that time.

BTW, this should of went first, damn Heineken!

I’m watching this thread closely and hope it grows.

Way back in the 90’s I had some disposable income and was a collector of CD singles. So consequently my collection is pretty complete for the music I liked at the time. I have been out of the loop for about three years now but might get back into it, still unsure. One new song singles and part two’s piss me off but I shall see what direction I go in the near future.

Thanks a ton, Simon. Much appreciated. I kind of wish there was a "B-Sides Only" YSI thread since they're always so tough to find on 80u1se3k.
