Creditors hate TVT; Steve Gottlieb perpetrates one last asshole move.

Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Pitbull, Ying Yang Twins, The Polyphonic Spree and others

not surprised at all. i was just saying something recently (in reference to Pitbull's 2nd underpromoted flop in a row) about how Koch is in a position to stay the big indie hip hop powerhouse TVT was a few years ago, because they keep snapping up established artists, whereas TVT just rode the whole Lil Jon/crunk wave for years and years, and did great when it was popular but didn't really have anything else ready to move onto when crunk went away.

I wonder what Pitbull's doing that other artists don't even know how to do.

The label’s first success was the popular eight-volume Television’s Greatest Hits collection, which chronicled various TV theme songs.

what's the deal with this guy... horror stories?
― s1ocki, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)
Tons and tons. The NIN-Gottlieb wars were the first I heard of them back in 1992 or so and every time I heard someone new had joined the label I figured that they were going to eventually complain about him. And I was right.

This NY Times 'correction' from a few years ago makes for amusing reading.
