Is this the prog mega mix he did?

mcd (mcd), Tuesday, 16 August 2005 17:13 (twenty years ago)

same here. actually, between this one, 'folk is not a four letter word,' the yamasuki reissue, and the 'vertigo mixed,' andy votel has had near total-domination of my listening for the past 2 mos. or so. all so, so great

xpost, that's the 'vertigo mixed'

i'm lovin the votel....

gotta kick out a review someday soon...thanks for reminding me.

i know momus thinks this is not quite the books, though to like the books, but I don't quite follow that tought. Its a fun little mix of Votel's (i'm told) exhaustive record hunting.

Other's have called it a b-boy mix. i'm not entirely hearing that either.

what i'm hearing is a good ole pile of fun, fried, and fuzzy pop-rock from round the world...a more spaztic take on the old Blow-up mix cd's.

I love this mix too. The Vertigo one is good, but I must admit to finding all the vocal snippets a little annoying

I got promos of "Folk" and "Death" but need to play them some...

Other's have called it a b-boy mix.

But not as in hip-hop, as in B-music: "an independent collective of DJs, musicians and music lovers dedicated to the obsessive and painstaking pursual of obscure, obsolete, exquisitely obnoxious, unbelievable, underexposed and undeniably delectable discs of experimental pop music from the psyched-out sixties and seventies." Which it does seem to be.
