Inspired by the dirty songs on the Hollies' album Evolution. Whether it be Britney's Satisfaction striptease at the VMAs, the Monkees movie Head, Duran Duran's Girls on Film. What are your favorites? Did they do it earlier than widely perceived? What groups do people forget crossed that line?

Too abstract to find possibly similar threads. But I'll move it there if anyone has them.

The Rollers-Elevator. The one with the South African Les-replacement, Duncan Faure. They kept on rock 'n' rolling and their jeans finally exploded!

Sample lyrics from "Turn on the Radio: "so you take another lude and you shoot another dime/cause your money is the power and your ego's on the line". Also there's something about someone on the corner offering "twenty twenty dollars for a twin that's on your mind" whatever that means. The title track goes something like "ride my elevator/don't say no to my escalator/ride!". And it's got a "Stoned Houses #1" and a "Stoned Houses #2".

I'm not too familiar with Duran Duran but I heard there was hoopla about the video losing them some young fans and creating a (!) "rock stars leading illicit sexual lives" storm *shrugs*

Are they worth checking out? I'll go check out a S&D thread on them maybe later.

I agree that with you guys about the "Bigger than Jesus" ordeal, but I thought we were talking about forgotten scandels or something. I still think it's pretty big to be banned by the BBC (even though the Monkees had to change the name of "Randy Scuse Git" to "Alternate Title" because of the BBC).
