what do you mean "for realz"? my understanding is that the interviews in riff central are fake but the ones in riff raff are real. hence my ali g analogy.

Riff Raff sucks hard because it's real but is just more music journo wankery where he tells his little stories Brent DiCrez style (Sick Nilfester has a PFM article about Josh Wink + Stacy Pullen that's like this right now, ugh) and makes passing references to the music as some pastiche/parody of hipster culture. It kind of sucks for the Village Voice format, but that's just my opinion.

Riff Central is great because it's completely blog-style freeform and the one-dimensional characterizations don't need to be OTM, they just need to be funny. I usually fall out of my chair laughing at them.

I sometimes laugh at Byron Crawford's antics then feel guilty about it. Any rationalizations that some of his commenting readers don't "get it" are somewhat misplaced since they get it literally, which says a lot about liberal use of irony.

No, amongst us Britishes Iain Lee is usually regarded as the worst comedian to have made a major presence on the television (although, to be fair, this was before Justin Lee Collins)
