Who wouldn't?

your old bass player, perhaps?

[sorry, couldnt resist making a bad joke.]

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 18 August 2005 22:33 (twenty years ago)

Ouch.

Do you still run into good old Newman these days? I saw him at Smog. He's in some band called Mitch Fiction and the Shits now.

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 22:36 (twenty years ago)

I didn't mean to imply that there are any hard feelings. We're definitely still buds.

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 22:37 (twenty years ago)

I want to play bass in your band.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 18 August 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

Ok. Do you play bass?

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

Yes.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 18 August 2005 22:50 (twenty years ago)

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 18 August 2005 22:53 (twenty years ago)

xpost No, but we are often announced/advertised as American Attitude.

hahaha! if you guys gave us trouble, we'd start calling you that.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:20 (twenty years ago)

What we really need, though, is someone who lives further away. Maybe DC-area.

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:24 (twenty years ago)

Then it sounds like multi-instrumentalist The Mad Puffin is your man.

k/l (Ken L), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:28 (twenty years ago)

No, actually, someone who can air-commute from Atlanta would be ideal.

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:30 (twenty years ago)

american altitude are really good.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:32 (twenty years ago)

Actually, I was inspired earlier today to go to the website and I liked what I heard.

Maybe you guys should hire somebody who needs you to buy them a bass because their own bass was "stolen."

k/l (Ken L), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:34 (twenty years ago)

Well, Newman refused to buy a bass amp. (But we love him anyway)

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

i have a bass amp.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

i have a bass amp too. and a bass!

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:38 (twenty years ago)

Ok, you're both in.

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:39 (twenty years ago)

Cool. It'll be like Mike Watt and Kira.

k/l (Ken L), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:40 (twenty years ago)

Or a more fleshed-out Dianogah.

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:41 (twenty years ago)

i need a bass player too!

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:44 (twenty years ago)

i can play a sampler with a lot of bass samples in it

strng hlkngtn, Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:46 (twenty years ago)

actually, american altitude might kind of rule with a double bass setup. it'll be like the delta 5 of alt-country/whatever it is you guys are!

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:47 (twenty years ago)

I need A PRACTICE SPACE.
RSG finally got power adapter for the 4track. psyched.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:47 (twenty years ago)

[plz. join cutty's band first. - mod.]

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 18 August 2005 23:53 (twenty years ago)

I wonder if you shouldn't have logged out and posted this thread anonymously and used some kind of nondescript email address.

k/l (Ken L), Friday, 19 August 2005 00:01 (twenty years ago)

You need at least 5 bassists to be a good band. This is proven by science.

Hurting (Hurting), Friday, 19 August 2005 00:42 (twenty years ago)

Wait, he didn't want to buy an amp? What did he do at the gig, play through the PA?

k/l (Ken L), Friday, 19 August 2005 01:15 (twenty years ago)

he borrowed other amps from other bands. josh, that would explain why you guys never offered to share you bass for shows... ITS ALL MAKING SENSE TO ME.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Friday, 19 August 2005 01:25 (twenty years ago)

Man, I thought only, um, drummers did that.

k/l (Ken L), Friday, 19 August 2005 01:26 (twenty years ago)

Sometimes he'd play Noam's amp. Toward the end, when Noam was getting rid of his amp, Newman agreed to chip in with Noam to buy a bass amp that they'd share. But his arm had to be twisted.

Hurting (Hurting), Friday, 19 August 2005 01:27 (twenty years ago)

ten months pass...
I have/had a bass amp, one that was esteemed in the world of rock music, but the dudes in the 'tude didn't like how it sounded. It was good enough for bassists like the guy from Wilco and Les Claypool, but not good enough for the lead singer. no hard feelings, just clearing my name here.

grackles (grackles), Wednesday, 12 July 2006 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

ha. I just realized this is an ancient thread.

grackles (grackles), Wednesday, 12 July 2006 20:03 (nineteen years ago)

Marissa?

Confounded (Confounded), Wednesday, 12 July 2006 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

Whoa! It's you! Can you come to my wedding? Sorry I haven't gotten you the invite - my shit is chaos right now.

Abbadavid Berman (Hurting), Wednesday, 12 July 2006 23:31 (nineteen years ago)

GRACKLES!

mts (theoreticalgirl), Wednesday, 12 July 2006 23:43 (nineteen years ago)

"dudes in the 'tude" is a great phrase
