Microsolutions To Megaproblems??

Has anyone heard 'Microsolutions To Megaproblems'. I just bought it, and I think I might return it. I played it once through at work. I never bought the 12" due to the names on the releases, but I usually like Soul Jazz. Nothing seems very new here?

i thought the kit clayton tracks were very good fusions of minimal/laptop house w/ bubbly "world" rhythms.

to a lesser extent kid 606 pulled off the same trick - i say lesser not because he's less successful but because he also seemed to be working in some dancehall and hip-house into the mix on his tracks. i really, really liked "batmen".

secondo / rekid / sutekh you can't really nail down what's great about their tracks, they're just good tracks that'd fit on a label like playhouse or arcola - leftfield and surprising without falling into the rut of an accepted style or sound.

the a. greenman tracks - yeah, they're glitchy postrock, but there's not enough GOOD glitchy postrock. i haven't actually been excited about the style since ddamage's album on planet mu - what, two years ago now? nothing new here, but i can handle the old when it's pulled off with this much flair.

my only complaint is that ammoncontact's original work blows away anything corker&conboy or telefon tel aviv ever put together - so why did they just use remixed ammoncontact tracks?

i'll listen to this again tonight and tell you what i liked in the morning.

if you're really gonna sell it - well, if you live anywhere near california and you'd get less than what you paid at the store, send me an email. i've been looking for a 2ndhand copy.

I really like the 12"s I have, the sutekh one is cool, I still fit one track off it into minimal sets from time to time. The other ones I have are the kit clayton and ammon contact remixes which I enjoy as well.
Haven't heard the compilation yet but if it's similar to the 12s I'm sure I will enjoy it.

For some reason I thought this would be a thread about Voivod. Bummed it isn't. Carry on, trainspotters...
