Has anyone heard this or own it? Recommended? is it a decent box? worth the $50?

i own it and i think it's pretty great. i'd say it's worth $50, you get like 5 CDs and most of the tracks are great (tho i could have done with a bit less of the sugarhill gang).

The Sugar Hill studio band (Skip McDonald, Doug Wimbish and Keith LeBlanc) is obviously classic.

Some of the jams are obviously too long or derivative or what have you. (Sylvia Robinson was very into the cashing-in thing.) I can't listen to much more than half a CD at a time, but the high points are astounding.

If you enjoy this era, you also can't lose with The Best of Enjoy Records... the label where Flash got his start.
