Seriously. I can very easily see her using the term "marijuana cigarette." Boo!

Chubby Unthreatening Guy (Eddie Trunks) is at least affably doofy.

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Monday, 22 August 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

Oh, she's alright. I hate Eddie Trunks. I'd rather see someone like her who seems like she has a life than yet another music dork turned VJ.

Candicissima (candicissima), Monday, 22 August 2005 18:58 (twenty years ago)

She is the only VJ I can stomach on Vh1 Classic. Eddie Trunk makes me want to vomit.

Jim Reckling (Jim Reckling), Monday, 22 August 2005 18:58 (twenty years ago)

i was so crushed when they started using vjs.

s/c (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:04 (twenty years ago)

yes, no vjs would be infinitely preferable

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:05 (twenty years ago)

Amy Scott has a lovely midriff. The same can very assuredly not be said of Eddie Trunk....who staccato'd speaking cadence makes me want to through heavy things at my tv screen. Why the fuck doesn't he just speak like his normal damn self?

Also, his fandom of Bon Jovi et al. makes him loatheable.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:07 (twenty years ago)

Fuck am I smoking?

who staccato'd speaking cadence makes me want to through heavy things at my tv screen.

WHOSE staccato'd speaking cadence makes me want to THROW heavy things at blah blah blah.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:08 (twenty years ago)

WAIT WAIT WAIT....I'm thinking of the Request show babe, not Amy Scott. Yeah, Amy Scott is AWFUL (see her cringe-worthy interview with Siouxsie & Budgie for evidence of same).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:09 (twenty years ago)

at least vh1 classic's vjs seem like real people (albeit vapid ones) and not just creepy models.

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

i mean, what everyone loved about the early mtv vjs was that they were these corny aging music dorks with bad perms!

s/c (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

martha quinn wasn't aging!

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:15 (twenty years ago)

she is now!

EDDIE TRUNK DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE

or stop hosting The Alternative you Aquanet groupie punk.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:16 (twenty years ago)

Someone posted a link of Martha Quinn recently. She married one of the Fuzztones (pardon me but...what the fuck?) and looks like a biker babe now. And not in a good way.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:17 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, Amy Scott is AWFUL (see her cringe-worthy interview with Siouxsie & Budgie for evidence of same).

i saw this. it was DEATH (as they say in the biz). all her interviews are.

s/c (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:18 (twenty years ago)

seriously vh1 classick's has gone downhill hard but it's still pretty great. i wish they'd just gone with an all-star lineup of vjs if they were gonna go that route (quinn, alan hunter, kevin seal, duff) but i'm imagining that's cost prohibitive - i can't imagine any of the vh1c vj's are making their living primarily or solely from the vj gig. what i'd really really like to see is when they drag in some olde timey act they'd let them program a block - i'd love to see a mick jones selected hour of vids (either mick jones).

Not really. I never liked a VJ until Fab 5 Freddy and he was never corny! Then again, my fave VJ ever has to be Ralph McDaniel. Dude was just so smooth!

but he's not even really doing it anymore - it's all A.S., and while he's a pud, at least he makes something of an effort to not let everyone watching know that he has no fucking clue what he's talking about. which he probably doesn't, but still.

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:25 (twenty years ago)

(xpost) then again, fab 5 freddy had a cameo in the corniest blondie video EVER.

s/c (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:27 (twenty years ago)

i miss chris tucker from rap city, at least he got to be in the 'night of the living baseheads' vid. i might like the vh1 classics vjs better if instead of being in some fucking studio that has a stack of rolling stones and some vinyl records in it whoopde damn doo they were standing in front of a bluescreen that had some 'cool' graphics going on it.

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:29 (twenty years ago)

more patrick nagel!

And he was like one of the best parts!

Candicissima (candicissima), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:36 (twenty years ago)

dude had invisible paint!

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 22 August 2005 19:36 (twenty years ago)

Tivo's the only way to go with Teh Classic. I tape some Alternative and FF through Eddie and the interviews and basically keep fingers crossed for something by Heaven 17.

Petroski (petroski), Monday, 22 August 2005 21:16 (twenty years ago)

i miss chris tucker from rap city

Uh...that's Chris Thomas.

PappaWheelie II, Monday, 22 August 2005 22:03 (twenty years ago)

haha thx

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 22 August 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)

Zack, if hamlet were written today, that would be the subject of a solliloquy
