dead raven choir sevenfold songs of death - sounds like acoustic black metal covers of folk songs (i recognized "yellow rose of texas") distorted to hell and back. verr verr noisy.
leaf yard - totally slept-on californian band (i think this is still available), recordings from 1991-1995. garage acid scrabble post-REAL-hardcore freakout that sounds like it might share some DNA with usaisamonster (back when they were good). "equally inspired by reign in blood, electric ladyland, ornette coleman, abstract painting and black sabbath."
i've heard some of the other pink skulls stuff (teenage panzerkorps, the futurians) and it sounded like distorted basement art punk.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Steven R. Smith's solo output? I picked up "Cities" today (his latest release) and on first, second listen I like it very much indeed.

He releases music under the name Hala Strana that is really great, as well.Eastern European folk influences abound.
