Yello: "Bostich (Westbam Remix)"

This is one of my favourite tracks of the nineties. Westbam just takes the basic tune, speeds it up a notch and chops the vocals a bit, then adds an infectious 303 riff and a four-to-the-floor beat, but somehow he manages to both update the already timeless song to the club generation and actually improve upon it. The track is effectively short (shorter than the original) and ends in a nice, dramatic way.

There used to be a great radio station in Jenkintown, WIBF. It had an incredible Greek music show on the weekends, very raw live-sounding flamenco performances, equally raw black church services with awesome electricified music, and various cult (literally) shows: ECP, Roy Masters, Our Lady of the Roses ("My child and my children. . ."). My father had even appeared on there at one time. Eventually it switched over to a "modern rock" format, which lots of people were excited about, people who probably had never listened to what it had been. I have no idea what it is now, but the modern rock format didn't last so long.

(I wonder if it is any coincidence that the my first and last experience with LSD was in Jenkintown.)
