RFI: Cutfather & Joe

So last night I'm picking through random stuff, and I stumble across the Cutfather & Joe remix of Mattafix' truly boring "Big City Life", and it hits me HARD right in the special place where I keep all the goopy clattering pop like the Knife's "Heartbeats" and that James Lavelle remix of that Hurricane #1 song. All the information ILX has to offer is that they worked on "Flowers" and "Return of the Mack" by SFA.

Is:

- SFA short for "Super Furry Animals", and if so should I still download these two songs considering how dull I found "The Man Don't Give A Fuck"?

- There anything else by these two guys I should be looking for? I mean I don't think I'm stumbling over the next Richard X or anything, but that Mattafix mix is MIGHTY good.

Hey! I provided that information didn't I? On the YSI request thread? And like you, yeah that Mattafix remix blew me away. I've still only heard it once, could you do a YSI of it please?

Also, what's this Lavelle remix of Hurricane #1? I couldn't find anything on p2p so could I make a request for that too (someone mentioned a stunning remix of Hurricane #1 to me recently but claimed it was by an early incarnation of Jacques Lu Cont).

And as for your qus, SFA stands for Sweet Female Attitude. All I know is that they were a proto-Misteeq urban girl group and that 'Flowers' is an incredible track, you'll love it. It's more 2step and skittery than Mattafix though. I'll YSI it to thread this evening if you so wish.

And 'Return of the Mack' is by Mark Morrison, not SFA (I must've phrased it badly in my other post). That too, is awesome. I'm not sure of the genre, New Jack Swing, but British? Big meaty riff and great vocals. Again, ask and I shall YSI.

I discovered the above info from google. Found a bunch of badly made websites, listing their contact details and the songs they've worked on and the chart position reached. They've worked with The Corrs, All Saints, B*Witched and Ace Of Base, and apparently wrote and produced Jamelia's awesome 'Superstar'.

You're right in that they're probably not the new Richard X, but they can certainly hotwire an ok track into a hook-soaked beast. All new artists should be hunting them down and begging them to give them a chart hit, and judging by their shitty websites they probably won't charge *that* much.

Other than that, I know nothing about them. Though I bet the people over on the Popjustice forums do.
