Do we have to?

OK, I'm baffled.

Just for starters, what's Lynch's equivalent to Eno's Roxy years?

ha! this comparison came into my head the other night, as i was listening to an ambient eno album and falling asleep. i thought i'd toss it out on ilm to see if anyone else thought it made sense.

it's the whole dignified yet eccentric middle-aged british gentleman vibe i get from them.

i think there are more parallels than this, and would like someone smarter than me to tease them out. any takers?

david lynch is british???

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 21:55 (twenty years ago)

sorry, my bad. replace british with...i dunno..posh!

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 21:57 (twenty years ago)

i think this is a bad comparison. but i have too much intestinal upset to bother thinking about/saying why. except brian eno-bones: david lynch-fleshy.

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 21:57 (twenty years ago)

I dunno....Lynch always strikes me as much more Midwestern small town in vibe, not posh....at least in the few times I've seen him on TV.

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)

I disagreee, Susan. If Eno is Bones, then Lynch has gotta be Spock.

shit, i don't get the joke.
