Yes that's right I'm talking about Terri Nunn, damnit.

Their "Best Of" is 3 times better than you would think it would be.

I believe it. They seem to have had a really good sound. Heard "Sex" on the radio the other day and the backing on that is nice.

Pleasure Victim > Best Of

Classic. Not THAT classic but it just passes the line between Classic and Dud.

Voodoo Child, Monday, 26 September 2005 02:58 (twenty years ago)

I'm genuinely torn. As far as I can tell from the one that I have, their albums are largely filler, but when they delivered, they DELIVERED. "No More Words" and "Dancing In Berlin" are both classic in my book, so for the sake of boosting them I say Classic.

count three and pray is underrated -- not just for "take my breath away" but for "you don't know" and "pink and velvet."

the happy smile patrol (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 26 September 2005 04:06 (twenty years ago)

In a weird way "Riding On The Metro" is, for me, the essense of electropop.

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Monday, 26 September 2005 04:37 (twenty years ago)

Essence. Jerk.

Oh My!

But wait, there's more...

"The NEW CD called 4PLAY has been completed, and is available through http://berlinpage.com . It contains 7 cover songs, including "Never Let Me Down Again", "Big Time", "Erotic City" to name a few. In addition two new studio tracks..."

I like the 30sec preview of "Scream" - it's exactly what you'd expect Berlin to be 20 years later - still silly, still moody, but a little, er, heavier.

Yet the tracklisting shivers my timbers...

rogermexico (rogermexico), Monday, 26 September 2005 05:39 (twenty years ago)

i dunno about berlin doing "for what it's worth"...

the happy smile patrol (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 26 September 2005 05:41 (twenty years ago)

I know they hate it (or they said as much in that episode of "Band's Reunited"), but I still quite dig "Take My Breath Away".

I liked Berlin, but Missing Persons had better tunes.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 26 September 2005 12:38 (twenty years ago)

I was addicted to "The Metro" for awhile last year.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Monday, 26 September 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

Is that "Dope Show" a Marilyn Manson cover? Could be interesting.

jonviachicago, Monday, 26 September 2005 12:53 (twenty years ago)

it is suprisingly satisfying to play bad midis of "the Metro" on repeat

emilys. (emilys.), Monday, 26 September 2005 20:01 (twenty years ago)

it's difficult to explain, but i once had a very intense dream in which i had, not necessarily sex, but the sensation of sex with the song "the metro" itself. the sound of it. woke up and felt weird intimate feelings for it, like you do after having a crush on someone in a dream. but then i snapped fully awake and was amazed at the whole thing.

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Monday, 26 September 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

but Missing Persons had better tunes.

This is actually correct. I associated Berlin with filler-filled
albums. Missing Persons I did not.

"sex (i'm a)" and "the metro" rule!

three years pass...

I want to talk about this band again, if you don't mind.

I have their Best Of CD (I guess I already said that upthread). Well, the interesting thing to me is I lent it to a friend and without me even saying anything about it, he agreed with me that "You Don't Know" was the best song. That freaked me out.

I guess this was released as a single? I don't remember it at all, but here it is

I don't really approve of her hairstyle in that, though. LOL I guess we'll give her a pass this time. Haha.

Sleep Tundra (Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 12:04 (seventeen years ago)

Also I agree, though, that their albums had a lot of filler, that was my experience with them, too.

Sleep Tundra (Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 12:09 (seventeen years ago)

This video is kindof stupid, they make you wait far too long for Teri Nunn to show up, but I have a feeling if I don't post this then someone else might beat me to it.
