dark brooding Dub Techno s'il vous plait

brooding = not like Fluxion or the Basic Channel Radiance tracks (which seem to be the blueprint for a million netlabel releases) but rather like E2e4 Basic Reshape, Presence (Edit), the pre-Pop Gas releases, Plastikmans Consumed and especially Jichael Mackson. recommendations anyone?

Keep looking through Intr_version, such as a large chunk of this comp:

Maybe the ol' Burger&Ink + Khan&Walker would do the trick (all on Harvest/Eat Raw, all 10 years old).

Dub Taylor - Summer Rainbow and the album that is found on (http://www.discogs.com/release/10905) Forms and Figures. Most of the Raum series, actually. Comps 3-5 are very good.

Signer- Low Light Dreams seconded. Also check out his productions under the name 'aspen' although they are not always techno in nature.

Keeping on a New Zealand tip I would recommend the Nurture records stable (12"s if you're keen - http://www.discogs.com/label/Nurture or their comp cd: http://www.discogs.com/release/66191).

If you have swayzak's groovetechnology mix cds there is a son.sine track at the end of cd2 which is a good indication of the sound of the label.

How is Primordia compared to Wildlife Documentaries.

They're not similar at all ... Wildlife Documentaries doesn't belong on the thread, it's basically straight-up digital dub.

Primordia sounds like its title.

For the last few days, I've been all over Jichael Mackson's Breitling Orbiter 8 EP thanks to this thread.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 2 October 2005 18:04 (twenty years ago)

"the blowjob" ep (what fe7affe links to in the opener) is fantastic, too. deep, man.

tricky (disco stu), Sunday, 2 October 2005 18:18 (twenty years ago)

breitling orbiter is my third favourite release this year!

one eye white, one eye black (FE7), Sunday, 2 October 2005 18:20 (twenty years ago)

three years pass...

Forgive me for creating another thread about techno in a matter of days, but I just can't help it. I'm looking for tracks similar to "Octagon", "Lyot (Maurizio Mix)", "Trak (Phylyps Remix)", the first Convextion EP's b-side, Scion's "Emerge", etc. Can anyone help me?

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Wednesday, 25 February 2009 01:56 (seventeen years ago)

oops, wrong thread. The Harder Side of Dub Techno (or is it dub techno? I don't know)
