I was talkin' to some people backstage and they told me. They to-oh-oh-oh-old me that no Paul Stanley stage rap CD is complete without the "what a bummer, I really wanted to come out there" track from Anaheim in 2000.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 8 August 2007 21:31 (twelve years ago) link

I grabbed the stuff off WFMU, but there must be more than that...?

This is the greatest Kiss related thing ever (though Jon Wurster's live tweets of Criss's autobio are a close second).

My favorite is actually Gene yelling what I for the longest time thought was "PITCH-BACK!!!" and I for the life of my could not figure out what he was really saying until it went off like a light one day when I was listening to it. He's saying "Pittsburgh".

To quote Bowiesongs, "Paul Stanley home demos from the late '80s may be the most astonishingly generic rock music ever recorded"

The way he says "HIIIIIIIIGH" on track 3 creeps me out more than any other sound I have experienced.

I think the laser pointer incident trumps all because just seeing them all standing in a row all mad and serious is really fantastic

a but (brimstead), Sunday, 1 January 2017 22:53 (three years ago) link

I remember on the Crazy Nights tour (87? 88?), which I assume was around Thanksgiving, or maybe not, who knows, it's a logic-free zone at a KISS show, PS had this bizarre Thanksgiving rant which featured the culminating line, "And I SAID to her, I got the right STUFFING for your BIRD."

calstars, Monday, 2 January 2017 00:54 (three years ago) link

just imagine how delighted he was when he thought up 'uzi of ooze'

mookieproof, Monday, 2 January 2017 01:16 (three years ago) link

I wonder if he keeps these quips on a legal pad or palm pilot or ?

calstars, Monday, 2 January 2017 03:59 (three years ago) link

I figure he has staff writers like Jay Leno and comes into their dirty backstage room before show time and they fire lines at him.

"That's good."

"No way, that won't carry in Omaha."

"C'mon...need a line for 'Heaven's on Fire' now dammit!"
