White Blood Cells came out in 2002? I could have sworn it was at least a year before that. Whatever, that's a quibble.

Lovely painting, and somehow the opening of the curtains really fits the momentum of the album - looking at it I just hear the opening chords and picture the curtains pulling wide open.

Doesn't quite come through in the image w/o the embossing, but I think this basically does what it needs to do for the album and is rather pleasant besides. This was a tough year for me, though, since I don't think I bought any other new records except the Modest Mouse one, which had godAWFUL art.
