Try here, http://www.jonhorne.co.uk/jptapes/jptapes.html there are links to some other sites with more MP3's of shows, also BBC6 Music which is a digital station is going to be broadcasting some sort of 'classic' peel show next week.

I used to have loads - I used to just tape them every night and then edit them down so I had tapes just of reggae stuff, sessions tapes and punk tapes and so on. And how I wish I hadn't because now whenever I listen to them I can hear what he said after the tracks in my head and that makes me remember that we won't hear him again. After playing 'New Puritan' on a session by The Fall he said "Am I one of the famous apes? I rather fear that I am..." and it was saying those kind of things which made him unlike any other DJ I ever heard. He ruled.

he definitely ruled! and still does somehow. thanks for your help i will check that website out it looks good so far. i used to have some tapes dating from my time in england but i moved so many times since then that they got lost :(

and do you think there's also a possibility to listen to some of his morer recent shows from like 2000, 2001 etc.?

I've been meaning to dig out recordings from Peel that I largely made between 1997-9 (my main period of listening to his show intently), which will be on a variety of cassette tapes, untouched for years.

I went through a bunch of tapes, and found one with JP reciting the often neglected final verse of "D'ye Ken John Peel".

I'll dig it up for youse...

I have what I grabbed off Teenage Kicks 3000 before it departed (mostly 2004). Would love to trade with others as well.

264 shows plus assorted tv things and the best of the festive 50. I'll go halves on this with anyone, seriously. can't go it alone--I don't have a machine that can read dvd+r, so if someone could burn dvd-r for me I'd pay for the media and postage.

Cheeky get! What's time consuming about creating 10 DVD discs, after having made the first copies?

yeah, it's exploitivly priced. I'm just keen to hear the peel shows, they make working in an office so much more tolerable.
