Technicolor: C/D?

The Disco Inferno album it's safe to talk shit about, I guess. Is it because it's more fun? I'll admit that I steered clear of it for a while for that very reason, but when I finally got around to hearing it, I ended up liking it quite a bit. I'll admit it's my least favorite of their albums, not even being as good as "Open Doors...", but it's a great album in its own way; certainly, if anybody but Disco Inferno had put it out, at any time other than right after "D.I. Go Pop," it would probably have been judged more kindly. The title track and "Kid's World" alone are worth the price of admission, and I'm tempted to agree with allmusic's assertion that the fireworks in the chorus of "Still in Love" is their best use of sampling. I can't say I feel the same obsessive connection with it that I do with the five EPs or "Go Pop," but I think it deserves more than, "I like their old stuff better."

I'd like a chance to hear all this other stuff. I've only got 'D.I. Go Pop':o( Any offers? YSI?

I seem to be one of the few people who actually like "Technicolor". Yes, it's not as good as "Go Pop", but it's more of a progression from the direction of the two final EPs, which is a good thing anyway. As Owen says, it's worth it for the title track and "Kid's world", but there's other good things there too. It's a good album to play to people to introduce them to DI, I find.

I do like this idea of "The Five EPs" being a genuine article when it isn't, mind. Nice one, Ned.

Especially since they actually released, what, eight EPs?

Seven plus the radio session, but since the first two are on In Debt, there ya go.

No, not the Mutantes album, but I've got plenty to say about that one, too.

Are the "Mixing It" sessions any good? I've never had the opportunity or inclination to find out for myself. I'd like to hear Ian's solo stuff too, but not even soulseek can help me there.
