Hello to everyone who reads the introduction page. My name is Ian, i'm 22 and attending RAC in Toronto. I've spent the nights of the past week reading past posts and i'm amazed at the quality, and knowledge this board has to offer. Look forward to posting!

are you melodic?

Hi Ian, and welcome.

snowballing (snowballing), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 09:38 (twenty years ago)

Ah Ian, you might be the chap to advise me. I'm thinking of moving to Toronto at some point within the coming year - is it a good place to live and work with reasonable cost of living, reasonable house prices etc.?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 09:40 (twenty years ago)

walk away. seriously, HEED ME.

Enrique (Enrique), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 09:44 (twenty years ago)

Pay no mind to Cantab malcontents.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 09:46 (twenty years ago)

(Umm, Marc, I know you're straightup, but this new guy is probably reading this and thinking you're saying "Right, all round this bloke's house!)

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 10:39 (twenty years ago)

if he's been reading ilm then he should be hip to everyone's trip.

Perhaps you know this, Ian, but once you get to know the quirks of the people who post here, the pleasure is enhanced tenfold. There are some really amazing and unique personalities here, in the best and most positive sense of the word.

moley, Wednesday, 19 October 2005 10:50 (twenty years ago)

have you tried the noize board?

N_RQ, Wednesday, 19 October 2005 10:52 (twenty years ago)

Hello, I am Skut from ESTONIA. I have been on the internets for eight days now and I came across ILM when I "googled" for ESTONIAN MUSIC. There was a thread about it. Who is Rachel Stevens?

Your friend,
Skut from ESTONIA

You are not who you pretend to be. Excuse me.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 11:23 (twenty years ago)

Hi, Marcello. Toronto is a very fine place to live & work. I think housing prices are quite high compared to the rest of Canada, but relatively reasonable compared to London or NYC.

He's been reading ILM for some time now, hence he won't fall for this.

Ian, consider gardening. Really.

But hello anyway.

Nöödle Vägue (noodle vague), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 12:04 (twenty years ago)

nathalie otm.

k/l (Ken L), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 12:15 (twenty years ago)

Marc, the housing prices in Tormanto are insane. Consider moving over here (Windsor), where you can get a decent house and a case of beer for $50.

Ian, welcome to the board. How far are you in your program? Are you far enough along to know how to get a band to not suck?

peepee (peepee), Thursday, 20 October 2005 00:28 (twenty years ago)

Hello. I am a resident in Toronto. Yet still in the ages where I worry more about things like jumping over sharks on waterskiis and how I'm supposed to feel about the episode of Family Matters where Laura's friend gets shot when the bad kids try to rob her sneakers than I do about rent, but I give Toronto a big thumbs up. So welcome aboard.

hello ian, and welcome.

Ian, don't listen to my destractors. They are just self-effacing. ILM is a haven for good sense and intelligent conversation.

You'll soon see past this facade.

No, really, it's a pretty great board, and humbling too (before I came here, I thought I was a giant music dork).

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 20 October 2005 02:09 (twenty years ago)

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Marcello: I love toronto, born and raised. If your looking to live downtown it's going to be pricy, both housing and nightlife. You can find some good deals if you look outside the core. The transit system is great and most major streets run 24hrs. Peepee: Started the course in September. So far I've only learned how to turn the EQ knobs, and autotune!! :D
