I only started a thread about this the other day but it only got a handful of replies. I'd like to hear more Happy Hardcore but stuff that concentrates on upbeat vibes and melodies rather than that tacky wacky bullshit with squealy women going "Come and take a trip with me/I'm flying to you darling/Through the midnightsky/In a midnight hour/hold on tight and feel the rush" etc. etc.

The Happy Hardcore version of "Sing, Sing a Song" I heard at Hull Fair one year.

Would "Into The Night" by Peter Wilson be considered happy hardcore? if so, then that.

If Acen's "Trip II The Moon" counts, put it on there. It's great.

Ditto for "Drumptrip II" by Kaotic Chemistry. So fucking awesome.

I'm no expert, but isn't "Trip II the Moon" plain old UK 'ardkore?

Scott Brown - "Now is the time"
Hixxy and Sharkey - "Toytown" (obviously)
Justin Time - "Sweet in pocket"
Brisk - "Airhead"
Force and Styles - "Heart of gold" (has a squealy woman, but is ok)
Dougal and Eruption - "Party time"
Seduction - "Disco hardcore"
Hopscotch and Dougal - "Steamtrain"
Chill FM - "Strobelight"
Ultra Sonic - "Annihilating Rhythm Part 2" (live)

D-Tox - Psychopath
And Nakatomi - Children of the Night, the only UK happy hardcore chart hit?

not so cool, Thursday, 20 October 2005 07:34 (twenty years ago)

"I wanna be a hippy(and I wanna get stoned)" was also a UK happy hardcore chart hit...I can't remember the artist now...Holland had a lot of happy hardcore artists, like the Party Animals, DJ Paul Elstak, Charly Lownoize and Mental Theo, but I don't know if they ever had international succes. Oh, and what about La Bouche: Be my Lover??

Eva van Rein (Gaia1981), Thursday, 20 October 2005 07:58 (twenty years ago)

Fat Controller - "In Complete Darkness"
E Logic - "Run To Me"

Nöödle Vägue (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 October 2005 08:03 (twenty years ago)

Technohead? I'd file that with Rotterdam Termination Source as a gabber hit though.
