so far the cake and DCFC song's both suck enormous amounts of cock.

Christopher Costello (CGC), Thursday, 20 October 2005 00:15 (twenty years ago)

The Dandy Warhol's song is probably the best thing they've ever done.

As co-producer of this soundtrack, I love seeing the comments. Even the cock-sucking ones....

why can't the walkmen make more songs with piano? they're awesome!

I love the Walkmen song and the Rogue Wave song (the latter of which is really one of the only ones that seems to do anything different with the tempos and changes). A lot of it sounds like the vocalists singing over canned tracks.

I like the concept...it's fairly unique for a video game soundtrack..haven't heard the execution though, some of those bands are pretty dire.

I don't really care to hear any of these songs, but I really want to try out the game. Maybe the Flaming Lips song will be okay.

I'm just glad to see companys - other than Rockstar and the Tony Hawk series - pushing for licensed music soundtracks with SOME kind of aesthetic, apart from the usual EA Trax "Hey okay how much will they pay us to put this Franz Ferdinand, Chingy and System of a Down new songs in Madden?" type thing....At least this was an IDEA, and the 50s covers at least fit the sort of b-movie horror aesthetic they were going for....

The Warriors by Rockstar which is out soon (or already) has a GREAT score...they redid all the creepy, throbbing minimal analog synth type stuff from the original movie, plus added alot, plus "In the City" by Joe Walsh and the remake of "Nowhere to Run" that they used in the film.....really great, music wise for a game recently.

EA Trax must die. Replace all video game music with Katamari OST.

adam (adam), Thursday, 20 October 2005 21:41 (twenty years ago)

Katamari soundtracks are excellent. great stuff.

Advent Rising had a good score too, by Tommy Tallarico, with full orchestra and teh Mormon Tablernacle Choirz....sort of derivative, typical sci-fi halo-ish, but really good and exciting...
