Anything? Nothing?

That there's no cure?

Or has Rachel Stevens said it all better?

Quite a lot, probably none of it useful, but eh. Rachel Stevens should cover "First We Take Manhattan". Except obviously she shouldn't.

I just put down the phone when he starts in on that shit.

Well, if Rachel Stevens sang "Don't go home with your hard on" I'd certainly take that as more significant.

"Dance Me To The End Of Love" is the best song I know about long-term romantic commitment, and all the more surprising coming from such a cynic.

The other side of the coin being "Hallelujah", whose third verse was sung by Buckley's partner at the time of his death (Joan Wasser/Joan As Policewoman) on Rufus Wainwright's last tour. Almost too much to bear, that was.

That there ain't no cure for love, there ain't no cure for love - no pill, no drug, it's all been cut with stuff.

"You may say that I've grown bitter, but of this you may be sure: The rich have got their channels in the bedrooms of the poor. And there's a mighty judgment coming.

"But I could be wrong. You see, you hear these funny voices in the Tower of Song."
