We could either nominate and elect representitives to a governing body to establish the correct policy on musical questions, or conduct plebiscites (e.g. "Is Tom Waits a shite singer?"). Of course, few are likely to call themselves a hardline Rockist or Poppist, but we'll start out with smaller parties and eventually several broader coalitions will emerge.
My party is Bo Diddley's Beach Party, which is based on the ideology that (nearly) all good music is directly descended from the Diddley Daddy (or Chuck Berry).
And no flip rejections of the concept: Ridicule me mercilessly or deconstruct my argument bit by bit, but the first person to say "Meh." will be shot to death.
