How is that phaser?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Sunday, 23 October 2005 01:36 (twenty years ago)

The "PhasOr" is pretty cool. Now I can play "Shattered".

Voodoo Child, Sunday, 23 October 2005 01:37 (twenty years ago)

Well there's your 7 bucks. The rest is icing.

jim wentworth (wench), Sunday, 23 October 2005 01:42 (twenty years ago)

Play "Car on a Hill," but make it sound like "Shattered"!

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 23 October 2005 05:05 (twenty years ago)

'court and spark' is so fantastic! 'ladies of the canyon' less so, but still very good. focus on the darker songs - the priest, the arrangement, rainy night house, woodstock.

derrick (derrick), Sunday, 23 October 2005 13:58 (twenty years ago)

Forget everything else: The DD-3 is the killer deal. Usually runs around $80!

righteousmaelstrom (righteousmaelstrom), Sunday, 23 October 2005 16:45 (twenty years ago)

Is that from garage sales?

Voodoo Child, Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

jesus christ scott what garage sales are you going to?

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

Me and some other people did a charity jumble sale sorta thing and I sold abt £40's worth of crap and got Kool Moe Dee's greatest hits, Ghetto Music by BDP and a Four Letter Word single. Nice

DJ Mencap0))), Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

actually, it was a fund-raising yard sale that we hosted at our house for the new low-power radio station that my lovely maria is helping to start here. lots of donations and a lot of old records from the fm station here on martha's vineyard that someone had saved when that station went digital and got rid of their vinyl. nothing awe-inspiring in their batch though. the ichiban stuff is cool though. if you like sometimes slightly cheesy local yokel 90's r&b and blues. we did good even with the rain. made around 700 bucks.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:27 (twenty years ago)

i still have bags of crap vinyl in the outside room if anyone's karla bonoff and nicolette larson collection is incomplete.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

Are you giving it away? because I'll take it.

Voodoo Child, Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:30 (twenty years ago)

no, we need money! five bucks for whatever you can carry with your own two hands! but really, nothing too great to be found.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

well if I give you $5, is it hard to ship out? because I'm in NJ.

Voodoo Child, Sunday, 23 October 2005 20:53 (twenty years ago)

maybe i could send it by tug boat. nah, i'm too lazy to ship stuff. you are better off going to new jersey thrift stores. Village Thrift!

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 23 October 2005 21:23 (twenty years ago)

Voodoo Child, where in NJ?

cdwill, Monday, 24 October 2005 02:22 (twenty years ago)

Montville. Near Parsippany, Boonton, Morristown, Lincoln Park, Towaco, etc.

Voodoo Child, Monday, 24 October 2005 04:06 (twenty years ago)

Wait, are you Michael Costello?

cdwill, Monday, 24 October 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

JEEZE! NO! I'm his damn brother. How many times do I have to say it?

Voodoo Child, Monday, 24 October 2005 23:34 (twenty years ago)

Ha! I knew a coupla lesbian producers/DIY label folks who moved to Montville about five years ago. Living there was what destroyed their 10 year relationship, they said.

What I got yesterday:
Sons of Yma (Peruvian psych/garage comp)
The Mockers 1964-68 (described in the liner copy as "The Uruguayan Rolling Stones,") on 150 gram vinyl.
Both from a South American pal having a record sale...
