i really like it. i don't know much of his pre-trapez stuff, but i was pleasantly surprised by this album (a truly solid album in this genre is hard to find in my opinion). his recent singles are also good. lusty post-akufen dry minimal tech-house with a nice sense of humor/surprise.

One of the strongest minimal techno albums of the last 5 years. Not a dud cut on it.

really feeling this too, if only on the few listens i got in before it got consigned to the 'must-listen-to-immediately' pile. pretty killer!

I definitely want to pick up that album. I heard the track 'El Ganada Ovino Blanco' and if the rest of the album is as good as that it's gonna be a killer!

It's good.

eleven months pass...
anyone familiar with his singles? i have some store credit with forced exposure and i'd like to pick something up by him, but i only really know the album. i have El Encuentro on mp3 and i really like that... how is the rest of that collage record? i see people mention trance a lot when writing about him, but i didn't really hear it in the album. is there a particularly trancey record by him? any and all discussion much appreciated.

The Las Bicicletas Son Para El Verano 12" is incredible

Multiplicaciones is also very good.

Two days ago I found out Alex Under is coming here, to Toronto, the first time ever. I still can't get over that news, anticipation. . .

I'm particularly keen on the collage ep that came out on +8 and the Gris Oveja ep on CMKY. ifam, i don't know if you slsk but if you do you can get a few eps off me. username - jed_e_free

thanks jed! his work with damian schwartz as musica charlista seems interesting. "technified jazz" - hi tech jazz a la galaxy 2 galaxy? i will investigate.

listening to boomkat samples of his records, i don't think there is a better techno producer right now. man is a genius.

Also check out "Whenever" under his Dolly la Parton pseudonym.

The only particularly "trancey" track of his I can think of is the one on that split 12" with Thomas Brinkmann, but it's nothing that will kill you.

i love the vocal loop on 'music is improper,' without any time in between them. carl craig did it on the domina remix... so hypnotic. lovely.

ps hi miki!

i think this stuff is a kindred spirit to q 1.1 and infinition/hyperprism by quadrant. they both emphasize melody and melancholy and make the tracks seem like they're bouncing between mirrors into infinity.

i guess i just mean that they're really tracky
