Indeed.

i beg your pardon is still their shining moment. such a great new order homage in its way. i can't find anything else as good on this album.

jeezus, the last song is insane. "tequila", "immigrant song", "these boots were made for walking", and tons of scratching. and yikes, a guest rap from somebody.

It's definitely better 1.17 AM music.

Jeez, is ALL their stuff made out of stolen bits 'n pieces? It's hilarious how they can borrow direct quotes from Lynn Anderson, Arthur Conley and the Beach Boys and have the resulting song labeled a New Order imitation!

I had the Kon Kan album! On cassette! I must have sold it when I was about 16/17 though :( I got rid of a load of old tapes around then.

"and have the resulting song labeled a New Order imitation!"

but the vocals and the vibe ARE definitely NO-inspired.

two years pass...

Bumb, because this sone came up on my ipod this morning.

I like "I beg your pardon" but mainly because I remember my early teens with this song, but always get the feeling that this could have been a good New Order imitation if it wasn't for the ridiculous "Do you want to hustle? That's rigth!" break.

It was 88 already, why stick to the same old boring disco samples?

Other songs that (for me at least) have a similar vibe: The promise by when in rome and russian radio by red flag.
