Hello Americans,

I need your help. If I were to buy a CD that is only available in the states at the moment, where should I go?

I don't really want to spend my money at Amazon...

I'm not American but maybe try http://www.gemm.com ?
Theres plenty of fairly cheap sellers there like CD Connection.

It depends on what kind of CD you are talking about. All the big online CD shops that are likely to have everything aren't going to be much different (better or worse) than Amazon. But if you want a kooky funk or jazz record obv Dusty Groove is the place to go and if you want reggae then Ernie's Reggae is great and if you want breakcore/jungle then Wrecked Distru, etc. . .

I just want to get the United State of Electronica album for my sister's xmas present, it's not available over here yet. So there aren't equilvalents to Rough Trade, Norman Records (indie record stores that do online sales) in the US then?

E-mail Boomkat; they'll get it for you.

four years pass...

Hey, I'm looking for all of the U.S. stores with used LPs online for sale, just so I know how to find things beyond ebay online. I already know about Reckless in Chicago, and Armageddon in Providence, but does anybody else have any suggestions?

Yes?

have never dealt with online stores directly, other than aquarius, which as far as i know only sells new merch through their site. (???)

when i buy used records online, i do it through discogs, gemm and musicstack. some of the sellers represent "stores", some are just individuals with items to unload. dunno how helpful any of this is...

a dystopian society awaits if we continue on this path. (contenderizer), Sunday, 22 August 2010 23:27 (fifteen years ago)

No thats great, thank you. I'm just looking for databases besides ebay and (rarely) Amazon to reference when I'm looking for used records beyond physical traveling abilities.
