excitement in music...

when i was going through a phase of listening only to bleary, washy drone-y, moody, ambient-ish music, my brother accused my tastes of being bereft of musical excitement. when i insisted that such music was exciting to me at the moment, he insisted that it wasn't, because it wasn't "kinetic". whatever.

anyway, what music *excites* you? do you find it difficult to get excited about music? to be exciting, does music have to be *kinetic*...?

excitement!

new music excites me most, i guess. where i can discover something. right now it is the new boards of canada which does this. i don't think excitement in music has anything to do with movement. slow, minimal music can be as exciting as stuff that rocks out.

it's all about the shivers that music gives me
if it does - then it's exciting la la la
