A 2CD set of Marley Marl mixing West End classics. [write-up here]

Anybody have a tracklist for this? Full release Thursday, Nov. 3, apparently.

This must be one of the most suspect sentences I've ever read in a promotional write-up:

"Most important, though, were his skills as a beat maker; Marl was among the first to mine James Brown records for grooves and also learned how to craft his own drum loops through sampling, which decreased hip-hop's reliance on special drum machines and gave his '80s productions a fresh, modern flavor."

Oh, take it back -- the CD's supposed to be out today.

He's DJing an in-store at Virgin next Thursday at 6pm.

3. "No Sense (1984) - D'bora"
4. "Fresh Avenue (1984)" Diamond D
5. "Get Into The Mix (1983) - DJ Divine"
6. "Sessomatto (1976) - Sesso Matto"
7. "B-Beat Classic (1983) - B+"
8. "Do It To The Music (1982) - Raw Silk"

13. "Work That Body (1979) - Taana Gardner"
14. "Give Your Body Up to the Music (1979) - Billy Nichols"
15. "When You Touch Me (1979) - Taana Gardner"
16. "Do Like This" Marley Marl (feat. MC Shan)

I'm guessing, as it's 2 cd's, 1 will be mixed and 1 will will unmixed.

I wonder who they pick to do this next. I remember Salsoul had that Grandmaster Flash mix (in 2000 or so?) and there've been a few decent ones since then.

A very predictable tracklist.

Indeed - all of the famous west end and salsoul tracks have been compiled so many times in the last five years that its starting to get a bit frustrating
