Who should I go see tonight: The Go Team, American Analog Set, or Jake Fairly?

They're all playing in town tonight, at approximately the same time, and I couldn't be any more undecided. I think my compatriot (also undecided) would have the most fun at the Go Team, but then it's American Analog's last tour or whatever. Fairly is the cheapest, but my concern is that it'd be bludgening techno at 1 am on a Tuesday, not what I'm after. Tell me what to do, ILM.

I'd say The Go Team, but I've not heard Jake Fairly. AAS do absolutely nothing for me.

Oh and I've seen both the Go Team and American Analog before.

i don't know who jake fairly is and AAS seem like they would be hell of boring live so Go Team

Go! Team. Their show in Houston was cancelled, but I bet it'd rock

Jake Fairley.

Jake Fairley. Then you can buy me a drink.

American Analog Set! It's their last tour anyways so go for it. Maybe it's a bias because I'm seeing The Go! team on Sunday, and Jake Fairly is from here and I've technically seen him if by seeing him that means standing right outside (it was a free thing so the doors were all open) where he was playing for like 10 minutes. As well I'm also unable to see The American Analog Set when they are coming here in November, and am quite disspointed about it, because I like them much more than the other two mentioned here.

But that's just my opinion.

keyth (keyth), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 01:48 (twenty years ago)

Okay! Decisions have been made. My compatriot says go to the Go! Team, take seperate cars, and catch what Fairley (keyth: Toronto, Kompakt, schaffel, I think) I can, after. Dave, what'll you have?

jergins (jergins), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 02:28 (twenty years ago)

Although The Go Team on record are great, Go Team live aren't the greatest. I've seen AAS live and they were amazing. Go to AAS no question.

Some friends of mine saw Go Team on Monday night and had nothing but good things to say about the show.

go! team! I saw them last week, it was not that much more awesome than the album but that's still pretty awesome.

tremendoid (tremendoid), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 19:09 (twenty years ago)

Jake Fairley absolutely killed it last night with some girthful, mesmerizing, uptempo techno with a side order of glammy schaffel.

original plagiarist, Wednesday, 26 October 2005 20:37 (twenty years ago)

So yeah the postscript: my friend backed out of the Go Team at the last minute so I went to see jake Fairley who did, as stated, kill it. I danced and met Dave Segal and drank Red Stripe. WTF is up with Red Stripe being the all-time hangover-maker?

Thanks ILM.

TF is up with Red Stripe being the all-time hangover-maker?

Stick with vodka, my man.
