No recollection of that, apart from his tastes in music, which were no shock at all - just depressing.

I also cannot abide those "dead air" pauses of his, which are presumably intended as "edgy" comedy timing.

But worst of all, he reminds me of a workplace bully that I had to endure about ten years ago. I just recognise the same mindset, and it creeps me out.

He is an idiot HOWEVER almost anyone I know in the beeb has some ludicrous tale of them fucking up your pay.

At one point in 2008 after my first job there, they realised they had overpaid me 1200 pounds. At the same time they owed me 1400 for freelance shifts.

I proceeded to get solicitor's letters about the 1200 while I desperately begged for the 1400, asking person x to call person y about this.

Took months to sort out.

When I got promoted last year it took them about 10 weeks to up my wage. It doesn't surprise me they even fuck up someone like moyles' pay..

By almost every metric, this is terrible, terrible radio. Moyles is obviously barely awake, asking the bare minimum of questions so that his sidekicks can fill for him. He does nothing with their answers. The "ironic" intro music has become unironic, uncommented on, has lost whatever cheeky irreverence it was supposed to have had at the beginning, but lumbers on anyway, part of the furniture now, inexplicable. Even the levels are bad.

And... gone! Clearly the above slating had increased the pressure to untenable levels.

I used to listen to him in the morn, but after a while it wasn't the chat or the lack of actual music played, it was more that every day it was exactly the same show. (they still do "Tedious Link" and "Car-park catchphrase", right?) (Oh yeah, and that I had lots of nice CDs that I want ted to play more)

Yeah, his exit has been on the cards for a while, it was more about timing and doing it 'nicely' and all that.

when i worked at r1 i have to say, around the office and stuff, moyles was a v affable guy, and i didn't ever work with him, very friendly. i know this won't matter if you hate him on the radio. the sidekicks to me were a lot more annoying.
