or is everyone still argueing about the merits of Kompakt...

I recently got turned on to the "I Feel Space" track and went out and blew 5 bucks on an old Prima Norsk comp that has some killer tunes.

That is almost where I was going with this thread, but somehow I see within the Lindstrom stuff more of an Italo, Daniel Wang, Metro Area connection.

I was told the Glimmer Twins head in that general direction.

I wouldn't pigeonhole him that hard, he throws in some more psych, rock and jazz influences than Metro Area have ever done. He's more of a cosmic dancer.

I think some people here love that comp, but I find it a bit uneven.

actually, as unwieldy as it looks, "disco-tech house" is pretty much exactly what this is.

HEY ALL

what do you all think of alex moulton: http://www.myspace.com/alexmoulton

obviously the cover art is *amazing* but how about the music?

sort of splitting the difference between the lindstrom sound and the kris menace / alan braxe sound.

not sure if it's good in a workmanlike scenius-y way or a plodding retread. sort of feels a little like both. maybe that means i'm ready for a new trend?

I couldn't get the MySpace songs to work, but the :30 samples ofthis remix of 70s hit Love Is Alive sounds interesting. I'm not much into getting five slightly-different versions of the song, tho.

myspace-player quit after two songs but I hear where moonship's reservations come from. pretty impressive on first listen though.
