Extremely fucking weird.

I can't decide whether it's a hoax or not. There aren't any real pictures of his penis shown (not that anyone would want to see them), but there is that odd shot of him with his pants down.

FWIW, their last album was v. good.

well, thank god he's not GAY!

Seriously, whatever. This isn't depressing. At least he's not trying to be all surreptitious doing this unlike 99.9% of Rock 'N' Roll/Hollywood. I think it's fucked up to post the screenshots though, and she should completely be criticized for it (unless I missed something where Greg asked her to post them publicly.)

Um, it's pretty clearly not him in the jerking off shots. Different colored shirt, different lighting entirely.

Seriously, whatever. This isn't depressing.

Sure it is. It's depressing -- if true -- that he's up to such stuff, and that someone would choose to make it public. It's depressing - if not true -- that someone would go to such lengths to smear the man's name in this fashion. It's base, crass, sad and depressing.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 29 December 2005 03:11 (eighteen years ago) link

CBGBs should have a benefit for him

DR. O. RLY? (eman), Thursday, 29 December 2005 03:20 (eighteen years ago) link

I was gonna say maybe a small change in lighting/angle could have that effect on the colors (seen a blue-green t-shirt come out all kinds of different colors on my cameraphone w/similar photo quality) but then I realized that the top 3 have a black and white frame-style border, making them a different size. So, yeah. Ten minutes in Photoshop could've just about fixed that and the colors. Just as well they didn't bother, I guess, cuz this is a weird and sad thing to do to someone. Poor guy.

Though pic 3 looks the same as 1 and 2 and is kind of embarrassing for the subject already but "uh, sure, I guess I could lift my shirt and tug my pants down far enough to show some fuzz and hipbone, whatever" is a big leap from the last 2.

I must have missed the meeting where sex and related activities are bad in any way, shape, or form.

Is this a puritan thing? File under: bad religion...

...which, as far as albums-disowned-by-band, isn't really bad. "It's Only Over When" and "Million Days" and even "Losing Generation" are good/interesting.

John 2, Monday, 2 January 2006 17:52 (eighteen years ago) link

I used to be a huge fan in high school but they've aged really poorly, in my opinion.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Monday, 2 January 2006 18:01 (eighteen years ago) link

I prefer to believe that Graffin is the guy beating it in the last few pictures because he has NO CONTROL, he has NO CONTROL.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Monday, 2 January 2006 18:19 (eighteen years ago) link

..a song which was something of a "spiritual" message, he has said.

...

As in, what, "Oh YES! Oh GOD YES!!"

But in all honesty, I don't see how they've aged poorly. They put all other bands who use their basic musical style to shame--both the ones that came before, and after. If anything, I PERSONALLY feel that--given that I haven't picked up their records in a while--perhaps I'm the one aging badly. Why not one minute ago I was couting my Eno albums... BR worked better for me when I was a teen...

John 2, Wednesday, 4 January 2006 04:18 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm a BR fan.
