I'm gonna play stuff like Pet Shop Boys, St. Etienne, Daft Punk, Avalanches, Rex the Dog and so forth, so something in that vein.

bove (bove), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:11 (twenty years ago)

depending on what bar we end up at on nye there's a very good chance i will be ringing in 2006 to the sound of pop country and "gettin jiggy with it"

cancer prone fat guy (dubplatestyle), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:12 (twenty years ago)

You need some Keith Urban.

he's dreamy

stop complaining you don't even know the horror of dutch countryside, regional, carnival-like music

Rizz (Rizz), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:15 (twenty years ago)

Oooh... Dilemna:
I'm playing music at a friend's house... No one will be dancing.

Do I play what i think is good (i.e. Belle and Sebastian and Mahjongg) or what they think is good (i.e. My Chemical Romance and Coldplay)?

Tape Store (Tape Store), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:21 (twenty years ago)

i wasn't complaining!

"alcohol" >>>> "a very clap your hands say yeah new year"

cancer prone fat guy (dubplatestyle), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:23 (twenty years ago)

I made a dance mix, only to find out that the bar we're going to doesn't have a stereo, only a digital jukebox. So I think I will just spend $20 and program the mix onto the jukebox. It's all pretty mainstream stuff, that people there are going to know (Madonna, Franz Ferdinand, Kanye West, etc.)...

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:27 (twenty years ago)

I think I see that I am truly antisocial.

[use of street parade as pivotal set piece] (nordicskilla), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:31 (twenty years ago)

I will be standing next to the jukebox with a crumpled-up piece of paper scribbled with BPM notations.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:33 (twenty years ago)

You're so musical.

[use of street parade as pivotal set piece] (nordicskilla), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:34 (twenty years ago)

iTunes BPM Inspector has changed my life.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:36 (twenty years ago)

Wait...you have to TAP for it? Why can't it just listen to the song and tell you the BPM?

[use of street parade as pivotal set piece] (nordicskilla), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

The tapping is fun!

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

I can't tap. I won't tap. I don't tap. I'm tap-illiterate.

I've decided to bring Now! That's What I Call Music Vol. 2

Because if you don't like Now 2, then there's no hope.

Adoration of the Mogwai (Deflatormouse), Thursday, 31 December 2020 21:03 (five years ago)

Anyone know of any live music events online ?

candyman, Thursday, 31 December 2020 22:49 (five years ago)

A friend of mine who owns a record store with an Internet radio station programs four hours of mostly vintage funk and soul, with forays into other genres. I’ll be dancing in my living room.

Three Rings for the Elven Bishop (Dan Peterson), Thursday, 31 December 2020 22:56 (five years ago)

Never mind, I found out David guetta is doing a live Nye set at the Louvre. 2021 will now begin in the correct fashion.

First he ended racism, now he saves 2021.
